Hey there from SA

Hi guys. Came across the site while doing a search for information on my carburettor.

Anyway, I'm the proud owner of a 2000 Citigolf 1.3 (Mk1 with minor cosmetic and interior changes). Has a 1348cc AJD engine with hydraulic lifters. It is such a fun little car, not really giving away its age while tackling your favourite stretch of road

Got it in 2005 for around ?4500. Should actually have saved a photo from that time. Didn't have a radio, standard height and had 155/80 13s on the stock VWSA steelies (hmm, maybe I can take a pic of my dad's car for comparison  :mrgreen

Will post an interior pic or two, as well as a frontal shot a bit later.

Here are two interior pics. The vinyl on the lower door panels are the same shade of grey as the interior carpeting and gear lever boot, which lightens up the car a bit. My brother had a '98 Citi with black carpets and paneling, but that was way too sombre.




VWSA changed indicator and wiper stalks to the MkIII type in '96.

Still looks familiar, same switch arrangement etc.

Thinking about it now, even though this is quite a common car here in SA, the combination of mods to my car make it unique. I have one of two cars that I know of that has been lowered on the factory 14" alloys.

Pity they are finally being discontinued at the end of 2009. Base price for a 1.4i is about ?7200 incl. tax. Current models include an airbag   and the Skoda Fabia dashboard.

The door mirrors have also moved to the quarterglass area.
