Joined up to E38 and volkszone recently, but am hoping to get a mk1 golf this week!

Well I can hope!

I currently own a Citroen AX with a 106 GTi engine in, Running about 160bhp (well it would be if i finished the ECU wiring…)


Anyway just thought I would say howdy to you all

picked up my mk1 golf last night!

Exhaust is too loud and it needs weller steelies on her!

Think she's a little down on power but she'll do for now until i get tinkering

i think its a mk1 campaign in primer grey at the moment. Ill get some pics when i get a second!

Im on the look out for a quieter exhaust if anyone has any

Thanks for the welcome, working all week but now its the weekend so hopefully get some pics and some work done on it.

Im still none the wiser to whether it is a campaign haha it has an after market fuel cap, aswell as door pins, has a sliding metal sunroof though and is an A reg. OK easy question for a newbie of vw's where is the chassis number? granted i was looking in the dark and rain last night but couldnt see it and thought it would be easier just to ask you guys!

Also whats a good vw place to pick up things like new front grilles or new exhaust? would like one that comes up and off at an angle if you get me?

Oh and Ive been looking at getting some weller steelies, what width can i go to front and bk? I was gonna go 8x13s i think the offset is like -10 but Im dubious whether I could fit those on all round? Fronts like very tight… Im on FK coilovers dropped a fair bit and was told to have 175/50/13s on the 8s any advice will be smashing

Good places to get new/second hand parts are GSF, Eurocarparts, local VW dealer, e-bay, gpcvwaudi.  On this site try crazyquiff or scouse.  Or have a look in the 'for sale' section.
