Hey folks newbie here from ABZ.

Big hello to all.
I have just joined after just purchasing my first MK1 on sunday 31st oct.
I have owned various vdubs before and presently own a 41k corrado G60(tornado red)CCGB member no1542.
I have been looking for a MK1 for ages, origianlly as a winter runner and for a summer project as the corrado gets stored for the next 6 months.
This GTI i have just bought is an 83 mars red model with 107k on the clock and has been stored since 1996.
This may cause some problems running it again but wont find out till i get it going again(as the fuel pump is knackered :( )
The car is totally standard as it left the factory and even still has the original stereo blanking plate fitted to the dash and has never had a stereo fitted :D  which has also helped as the back shelf has not been tampered with.
If anybody has one that has been cut please get in touch(but i aint selling the original)

I will post some before and after photos of the car once i get it going and cleaned.
The car was stored in a steading building and as you could imagine its covered in spiders webs and dust even though it was under cover.

I live in ABERDEEN and anyone from that area feel free to get in touch as friendly advice wil be needed at some point

Or try this local website for VW owners

Thanks again
skid.

Hi Skid!

Sounds like a good find? Did you get it for a good price too?

Look forward to seeing the pics. Shouldn't be too much problem if it's been stored farely well. I've had similar before with not too much problem although hoses can dry and split. Do you know if it's been started at all whilst being stored?

Thanks for the relys guys.
Thanks for that hairy but the garage has fitted a new one which i would have prefered too unless none were available.
I paid ?1400 for it ….some say too much and some say well worth it to get something as original and as solid as this.

Thanks kev……i see you are on the eastside forum as well…do ya come to any of the meets??

Haven't made any yet for 2 reasons
1. Im currently driving an Escort Gti
2. My golf is off the road for major restoration work so im very busy

If i can persuade my girlfriend to buy a mk4 turbo i will be through with that sometime. Would like to see your new purchase sometime.

I take it you mean for the car, not the fuel pump! 8O

If it's solid and doesn't need much work then not too over the odds although an MOT at that price would be nice unless it really is solid!

Any pics to post?
