Hey everyone! I'm new from Sweden and want to buy a Mk1 soon

   

Hi, my name is Erik and I come from Sweden. I study music full time at university and a main hobby I have besides music is cars! Anyways I joined this forum because I am really interested in the Mk1 because they are very cheap to own… and because of how cool they are! Anyways I have an idea for my golf and was wondering about a few things in particular. My vision is a stripped down golf ( no backseats, I want it to be as light as possible) with a lowered ride height stiffer suspension and have it sit on som fuchs porsche wheels! Some type of solid colour. I want it to look very clean, not at all gaudy. As for the engine I would like to restore it and maybe bore the engine slightly larger and put on a larger exhaust to give it a little more kick. The porsche wheels are one of my main concerns. I have seen MK1s with them but I wonder about how it is accomplished. The porsche wheels have a weird offset I think. And do they fit? Is it even worth it? I think they look great but performace is more of what I am worried about. The other thing is the engine. What are some cool modifications that will give me a little more horsepower without being too invasive? Thanks!
