Hi there anyone.
just about to remove the rusty filler neck on a my pride and joy.When she is all of is should i remove the tank to wash it out or flush out injectors with an additive at a later date bit confused as new to this classic car game .Seen the link saying walk away if you have seen a car with rusty filler neck also seen one saying a common fault

Hi Tony,

It is a common problem for sure, replace filler neck and flush the tank.

Stick a post in the tech section if you aint already and someone will help you out quick snap.

Welcome to the club Tony.  It is indeed a common problem as the ceck runs down the arch and therefore corrodes quicker than most places.  You can experience problems in the tank, fuel lines and injectors if you have a rusty filler neck.  To be safe I would replace the fuel lines, fluch the tank and replace the filler neck.
