Hello
I've been hovering for a while as I work stupid hours an my internet access is limited. I have to use wi-fi on my phone most of the time, and its a bit rubbish, so apologies to multiple messages I've sent to people in the for sale section!
I have a 91 mk1 Golf cabriolet in Alpine white, and I've been slowly getting it how I want it. It was nearly there as a daily driver until it got stolen for 2 nights a week ago, but fortunatley, it was found in a rough ass estate. It was hidden away with a full tank of fuel, so I'm assuming they were coming back for it.
Anyway, they made a mess of the interior (steering lock/barrel) and just were careless in it whilst driving. It ended up with a few bits missing and a dent in the n/s wing. I'm obviously happy to get it back, but just urgently want it back how it was before the theft. I'm nearly there now though. Just need a couple of bits.
Anyway, once its all back how I want it, I'll get a few pics up of it.
Cheers to everybody for this site though. It's like the mk1 electric bible!

Sorry to hear your car was nicked…not nice at all! But, as you say, you were lucky to find it…and in one piece! Look forward to seeing the photos when you get it back in shape.

I'm trying to keep my car different, with a blend of old school, oem and period styling, without influence from the regular show whores, as I find that the whole point is lost in translation.
The last show I went to was Edition38 in 2007, and i just found that a lot of the cars might as well have just been ??? signs put on a stick in the grass.
I do appreciate the originality, but anybody with a big bank balance can pay somebody to do anything to a car.
I prefer to tinker myself, and save the dough. Looking for bits to suit my taste and doing the work myself is what its all about imo!
