Hello:serious interest in webbywaggons sil Mk1 GTi 2.0 9A project/ in for sale was taken off sale. I'm genuine buyer. Only mods can post on thread. Theres no tel no on ad.

About me: Get post from CES motor factors addressed to Mr XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX Garage Manager. Bought enough stuff!!!

Had straight & tidy Mk2 proj mothballed 7 yr at least. £1k new suspension boxed. Pi coils painted with 2k exact match to body colour. Wishbones and the rest. Polys. Eibach rollbar kit box.

Body flatted by hand wait for it….nearly 2 mth- almost 5 days/ wk. 3 new panels & s/h tailgate in primer!!!

Motor out. Painted both sides bay 2k & laquer having taken seam seal off. Isnt smoothed- OEM really high gloss atlas grey met, small GTi bumpers with green glass.

1989 'Dad' VAG factory tow bar period- piece on car refurbed not gonna be fitted.

Interior valeted dash comes up almost like new.

Thick Hella headlamps. Underside jet washed several times day bought never seen a road since lubed doz times.

Also fathers old vgd 406 gonna be sold. 53 yr old Landrover 'Van' now called Commercial Hardtops. Like a 90 but got 88" wheelbase. Had same attention as Mk2 a lot by previous owner. Diffs are tall/ heavy duty suspension/ tyres/ servo fitted/ big Perkins conversion from early 70s. 73 MGB family owned 2 yr old and dry stored on stands since abt 1980.

I would suggest the following.

Maybe go on general chat and post has anyone seen "so and so" it might jog someone's memory that knows him.

Just a couple of points to consider.
Good luck in getting the project, sounds like you got plenty of experienced to get a great job done.
You could start a build thread once you have it.

That'd be me then,lol. That post is a couple months old dude. Its not foir sale anymore, im finishing it off. Got nearly all the bits to finish now by hook or by crook. So just waiting to restart this saturday, if the weathers all good. To be fair, i would have been mad to sell it, especially as the shell is so mint. So soon (hopefully) to be seen tearing up the tarmac in Solihull.
