Hello again!
Welcome to the site . I spoke to you briefly at the meet, I had the black Sportline see my sig pic below.
Nice car you have, I didn't even notice the car had a pink tint at first, very subtle. So do you have any plans for your car? Anything need doing to it?
The next meet is going to be at Exeter at the Barn Owl pub in Sowton. We've only just started rotating the meet venues, they used to be all held at Taunton. The meets are usually held on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Hope you can make the next one too

the pink varies alot depending on light
got a few plans although the main priority is to get it looking mint for the summer
needs some paintwork on bumpers and bonnet
having power steering fitted next week (parking is near impossible at the mo…!) and also a rear disk brake convertion to be fitted at the same time so hopefully it'll stop as well as it goes!

Hello again. as i said in another post in swm17, im simon, also spoke to you there, about your car etc.
Nice of you to join, thought you might have after speaking to us.
Also why's parking impossible? Try having wider wheels on that makes it more fun
And incase you forgot who i am i had the 16v one with wide wheels on.
Welcome again.

Heavy steering can be due to worn top mounts on the suspension. There are also some spacers that sit in the top mounts that sometimes get forgotten by garages when they put it all back together. Wide tyres obviously don't help also.
So do you know what steering rack the garage fitting your PAS are using? no UK right hand drive Mk1's came with it.

yeah colette that would look really good.
i couldnt afford them ever really, i would only probably ruin them, go for it it would make the car look even better.
Yeah ive always got plans for mine, always changing things on mine, i need to get it looking as good as yours next really and keeping it working.
looked like you had really good paint, thats what lets mine down and the bad body work.
let us know if the power steering was worth it and how much better it is for you.
How much will it cost you do u know? or not til its done?

Hello! i was late and parked up next to you! i too admired the paintjob! didnt get to meet you but hey im sure the guys gave you a good welcome.
as for the "rear Disk Conversion" i wouldnt bother, just uprate the master cylinder witha big block MK2 then itll stop. cheaper too and safer.

thanx guys
thanx for the big welcome and compliments guys.. oh and for the advice.
the powersteering has been taken frm a mk2 gti, we have a family friend who runs his own garage and has done this convertion on another mk1 so hopefully be a fairly easy job for him
ive been given a rear beam with disks, calipers, pads etc frm a friend who was breaking his car so jst got to pay for it to be fitted…..
why would doing the master cylinder be safer than the rear disk conversion?
