Hello MK1 Golf Club

My name is Sam, I'm 17 years old. I'm still learning to drive but when im pass i want to buy a MK1 Golf and join the club.

I have wanted a MK1 Golf for about 2 years and now i think it's time.

Hi Sam nice one mate!!!

Have a look around now even if your not in a position to buy.  Just familiarise yourself with what you can get.  Attend some meets too because you don't have to own one to meet people with mk1's.  Most meets are really friendly so get out there.  When's your test?

I tried booking my test in this month, but there is a 6 weeks waiting list. So should be around January or Febuary.

But yeah ill attend some meets. Think a GTI mk1 will be abit pricey insurance wise for me. As i am only 17.

So i might think about the 1.6.  :dontknow:

Few and far between mate but get a little one like a 1.1 or something… even a driver which is 1.3… at 17 mate a 1.6 will be through the roof  :dontknow:

for your first insurance you really want a small engined car, like a 1.1. unless you've got tons of cash, cos most insurance company's will have the lot if you insure a 1.6.

Update: passed my theory test saturday.

Now going to book my driving test. So Hopefully soon.

they say the theory is the harder part of the test too!

haha sounds familiar, im 17 too, brought my mk1 just before my 16th b'day and still isnt on the road as ive been tweeking it since i brought it. plus ive been passed since september and getting bored of my mk3. too modern for me i think!!

Yeah, well i got my driving test booked. So hopefully be on the road soon, with a mk1
