Welcome - Looks like youve got some work to do there to keep you busy….keep us posted on progress - get a thread up in the restoration section

Ive got a sunroof panel in black - few scratches and a bit of surface rust (def not rotten) and you would obv need to re-spray anyways for colour !!

Also not sure what you mean on door handles - are you talking about the one's inside that you use to pull the door shut??

and what with being a 1.6 and all , not many left around it would be a crime to bugger it up!

what i meant is the actual door hinge where you bolt door to car
Make sure you get the correct ones:

Hinges on early cars have narrow plates attached to the A-post by two Allen-headed bolts each, later ones square plates with one bolt; changeover in August 1978 apparently in conjunction with change from tin to plastic bumpers.

(Early door, attached to car:)

(Later door, loose:)

Have fun!

ok  need advice here ,

the bottom arm that sticks out is fixed on one side and floppy on the other , im guessing this is a bad thing ?

This is my early car's door check arm with the door in place on the car; as the door is opened, the arm gets pulled out until it reaches its stop. (The vertical bolt and nut should really be a clevis pin secured by a circlip.) Note that here the moving door arm end is forked and the fixed A-pillar attachment is simple:

And here is the check arm of my later spare door, first as it would sit in the door (attached by special stepped bolts), and below shown dismantled. Here it's the other way round: The simple arm would go into the forked A-pillar attachment shown in your photo, but I'm not sure whether that should be fixed or floppy, as I don't have access to a later car:

Is it this assembly that you need (2 pcs.)?
