Hello I need a push!
not sure where to start ?
I have been driving VW's since I past my test passed in a MK2 Polo some 14 years next VW was a TDI golf estate then T4 transporter and curently driving a MK2 polo again! and my partners got a a T4 transporter 9 seater mini bus.
Wanted a MK1 since an old school friend of mine had a MK1 GTI. Ive never been that fussed buy the GTI bit just love the look of the MK1
Joined this friendly looking forum as i have been ofered two MK1 golfs both have been sitting for at least 5 years. one seems amazingly good very little rust the other is a bit wors for wear rust holes in the wings and stuff. both are Golf C 1.1.
I will be going to look at them again in the next few days what should i look out for?
I know there will be a fair bit of work involved in getting one up and running and am looking for a bit of ''go on you can do it!''
anyway all going well I will be about on this forum alot more in the future
Cheers
Toby

There's a Mk1 buyer's guide on the Homepage aswell with some advice on what to look for when viewing cars. Even if the one you want has 'problem areas' it's not the end of the world and you don't have to be an expert to sort them out. Like Tian says, get the best one you can afford and you shouldn't regret it. There's plenty of advice on this site while you're repairing and restoring a Mk1 and good access to parts and info on where else to get them etc…
go on you can do it!
