Hello, good evening

Hello all just bought my first Mk 1, 1983 gti hard top, although there's no engine. Sure it won't be too long untill she's running though, thanks to all the awesome info I've been reading on here. Planning on a 20v turbo conversion, but got to take her apart first for lots of well overdue TLC. In Portsmouth area cheers all!

Welcome mate,

You'll find find everything you need to know at this Club and if you become a fully paid member a whole lot more!

Mk1's are a way of life and take a lot of time and money but that's a big part of the fun and the passion. They are most of the time a whole lot more reliable then your local Footie team!

Just kidding mate about Pompey, I hail from Hampshire and have watched there struggle from a far with great interest. I wish them all the best mate!

Enjoy your Mk1, and come to the AGM next year!

Mike.  :)

Hi

Welcome to the Mk1 Golf Owners Club, enjoy your stay and feel free to browse around the forum and ask any questions you may have, we are all a friendly bunch, and will try and help where we can : - )

If you are looking to save money make sure you check out here:
The Mk1 Golf Owners Club

For just £15 a year for paid membership, you have soon saved more than the paid membership free on discounts from the partners that support our paid members, and on top of that help the club keep going.

As a club we encourage people to meet up, make new friends and share experiences and knowledge we have all had with our golfs etc , so if that's your sort of thing keep an eye on the Regional and National pages below, where there will be details of meets in and around your location. Also details of who your Regional Host is or are, feel free to contact them about meets in your area also.
