Hello from Scotland!

Hey all,

Im Ross from Scotland and have just bought a nice wee 1989 clipper. This is my first experience of water cooled vw ownership after my beloved 72 squareback was written of 2 weeks ago :(

The car is great and in nice tidy, useable condition…….however………i will be looking for some decent wheels for the wee guy as the scalla alloys that are on it have been hand painted and look scruffy as!! 8O …….any suggestions or anyone selling anything nice (and affordable ha!!) im thinking bbs or something equally as cool 8)

So far loving the car and long may it continue!!

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers

Ross

Check out eBay for 15 inch Bbs ra wheels and there is a set of them on Scottish vag website needing refurbed in Dumbarton for £100

Get some pics of your motor up when you get a chance

hi from the west coat

hi there - im a relative new owner too….drove my cabby GTi up from sunny cambridge a month or so ago. since when its been raining…and ive discovered the roof leaks like, well it leaks like its not there at all!
learing to "enjoy" the various rattles and squeeks - oh - and the hydraulic fluid for the hood is pishing into the boot!
the joys!
having said that, its a blast to drive and i can always wear waterproofs.
oh - anyone know anything about dodgy synchro from first to second……?

Having a mk1 is always fun.

Gearbox linkage kit is always a good thing to do but I am no expert mechanically!

Where is your hydraulic oil leaking from in the boot ?

Not the best car with a leaking roof to have in Scotland over the winter

Enjoy and hopefully all the scots owners can get a meet together next year ?

Cheers Chris
