Hello from Isle of Wight (IOW)

Hello,

I got my first Mk1 about a month and a half ago - runs pretty well but needs some body work.  We have just moved over to the isle of wight and wondered if there is anyone else here with a Mk1?  We moved over 4 weeks ago and all we have seen in one black tin top!

I posted a topic a asking of isle of wight garage recommendations a couple of weeks ago but didn't have much luck - so if you know anywhere that can weld up and paint my mk1 please let me know.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome aboard matey, your not far from me at all (am over on the mainland tho) but I have a very good mate on the island (fellow dub owner with a mint BBM mk2 and a mk3 valver??)….kinda weird cause he found my MK1 for me over there, (is still on the island actually, as i still need to arrange to get it back here)….there is a small vw following over there and he knows most people (he is also a top mechanic so if you need work done i can let you know where his garage is) did you find your car over there????

Hey Nicko,
It would be really useful to know where he works - I have the usual gear linkage problem that needs sorting out.
Thanks
