Hello From Essex 8)

Hi Guys & Girls,

Just joined up because my girlfriend has just very kindly had a lovely Clipper presented to her, courtesy of  her Dad.

It's a 83' White Clipper, and I've got to say I'm very impressed with how clean it is for it's year, and with only 75k on the clock, I can't only help but think he's found her a gem! (she has been waiting for 2 years though) and well worth the wait in my opinion!

I'll post pictures up as and when I get the chance, but I've joined up for a bit for a bit of advise, general knowledge, and information as I help her continue to maintain it with her, and keep it as clean as we can!

I'm sure everyone is friendly on here, and I know the scene is massive! we've already had alot of nods and thumbs up on the roads from people, so looking forward to a bit of browsing, and no doubt everyone's wealth of knowledge!

Hi to yourelf and your lucky girlfriend.  The mk1 community is massive now and generally really laid back and helpful.  You have come to the right place!!

Looking forward to the pics I bet she hasn't stopped grinning as the weather is perfect for her!!!

What a fab pressie! 8) Look forward to seeing the pics. Shame you didnt join a couple of weeks ago, you could have brought the clipper along to the annual weekend bash…..92 MK1s out on a road rally on the Saturday!

Exactly that! She really couldn't have asked for better weather, and indeed has been beaming every time she gets in it.

It's as expected, got a couple of bits that need doing. For example, we've just picked up the original rear lights for it. It's currently got the clear crystal ones (which in my opinion, don't look bad at all) but definitely a bigger fan of the original lights.

If the weather holds out. I'll be spending the whole day cleaning it up and getting it looking respectable, and most definitely get pictures up.

Not that far from you, I'm near Stansted Airport.

There have been a few meets out at the  8 ball on the A12, and at the Toby Carvery at Stanway (Colchester). Keep an eye out on the regional meets page for anything coming up.

Welcome aboard dude, this is imo the best club for the mk 1 golf (and Jettas). loads of great info and really friendly as well !!!!!!!!!

Should hopefully have another mk 1 meet soon, as debs said keep an eye out in events sect. Alas  I'm off on holiday soon.
