Hello from Australia
The names Cameron and I own a 1977 Mk1 GLS Automatic.
It is in pretty good nick and was owned by the original owner for 32 years.
My plans are to run a Turbo Heron motor with lower compression Mahle pistons on K-Jetronic. Does anyone think this is do-able?
Ill upload some photos soon.
Cheers
Cameron

I recognise your name from vwwatercooled. Iv only seen your 79 GTI though. Do you still have that?
Edit: Just realised I was looking at your '77 on vwvortex. Looks really nice

A car having the same owner for 32 years is very impressive! Look forward to seeing the photos. I'd post up your engine query in the technical section to get advice a bit quicker (not everyone visits the Newbies section regularly).
Cheers

20mm on the rear is not enough, I think 25mm rear and 15mm front will be perfect.
Now for pics

11 maybe a little too young for that, even in an uncouth bogan country like Australia
Yeah, think it is the CV. Lucky I am stripping her down once we move, full restoration begins!

Where in Oz are you from? I've moved over to Brisbane from Scotland and have a MK1 Golf Cabrio that is basically finished bar a few little styling items. I noticed that there were quite a few old Golf's in your photos, do you know if there is a MK1 club in Australia? Also, I was planning on getting quite a few of the parts you had purchased also and had sourced them on various web-sites. Did you manage to get them in OZ or did you order them from abroad on the web. Can you recommend anywhere for these parts?
Cheers mate,
Marty
