Hello. I am Mk1 owner from Latvia!
This is my golf ops:
I bought it last year. Thats how it looks than:




Some parts bought:

BBS Rm rims:

Gti steering:

Two new fenders:

KR cams:

GTi spoiler:


And biggest thing:
Passat 2.0 dohc with 9A engine which i plan to put in Mk1


I plan to restore Mk1 in good condition. First -> Repair body..

Now i try to understand what to do with steering. I plan power steering.. Where to get the rack for power steering?!

Hi and welcome! Looks like the makings of a good project you have there!

I'm not sure on the steering rack, can't recall if the usual UK suppliers stock power steering ones, guess they would.

Sure someone here has the answer.

About steering:
My golf is Left hand drive so is it possible to get some parts in uk? I can try to buy rack from usa, but shipping to Latvia will be too expensive.
I think i just try to get rack from some other car.. I heard that opel corsa rack can be modified to fit Mk1?!

Power steering is for whimps  

But yes that may fit but maybe not with an 16v conversion  :dontknow:

It should fit 16v conversion, but i think steering rck is missing.. Thats exactly what i need.. :dontknow:

I notice at the bottom he will only dispatch within Germany

About Germany it is not problem :wink:
There are company LBSS.de which will get it to Latvia. So i should bid this power steering kit?

keep it original unless your going to paint the hole car, then do it red,
but thats just me

Today tried to remove windshield.

   

Some work today…
Removed all windows, all electricity, engine also almost out.
