Hello from across the pond

Hello all,

My name is Cathal and I hail from Dublin.  I have just purchased by first Mark 1 from a member here and am delighted. Not new to VW's  and am well involved in scene over in Ireland.
Looking forward to getting info and sources for all those hard to find bits :DI currently have a MK6 GTD daily Driver, a mk2 VR6 track day car , a Touran for the rest of the household and now a Gambia Red Mk1 for ME

Pics below of the whole crew

Thank Scott. The colour is Gambia Red and there's not that may around. Only real plans are a nice set of 15" rims and a set of coilovers, then off to the lock up with it till show season in 2013.

Little update ..

Spent last weekend trying to make a start on the car for Dubshed. I removed the whole interior and planned to give a good dose of the following

But the fffing pump was leaking and I could get no pressure..

I decided instead to give it a good clean a primary polish..

I had been messing with the centres from the Gotti's I bought.
This is how they came

I dipped them and tried just painting the letters and the edge

Next was painting them Gambia Red ( same as the car ) with black writing and edge

I havent decided yet.. Any comments or suggestions. Bare wheel without centre below

Needs the centres, so centres in…

A nice touch would be to have the centres in black, that way the red would stand out a bit more.

Cheers Hugh.
