Hello All, joined to search for RYK 800Y

Hi - I have joined this site to find my old Mk1 GTI reg plate RYK 800Y. It was silver but I bumped into it at a petrol station 7 years ago where it had been resprayed…purple!
If this club had a magazine called Rabbit I was a member 12 years ago.

So if any one can help I would love to be reunited.

So it seems from looking at the info, that it was last taxed in the year 2000 which is strange as you said it was repainted only 7 years ago  :dontknow:

Maybe it was a bit longer then 7 years ago I saw it. I had a P reg Audi cab at the time which I had around 2000 - 2001 so yes it was longer then 7 years.
I guess this points to it potentially passing over to the other side. Shame as it was the car I remember most fondly. I had a 205 GTI before it which I bought instead of a Golf. After a year with the Pug I knew I had made the wrong decisions so sold it and started the hunt for a GTi  and found RYK 800Y in Southend.
Probably for the best as I already have a couple of cars with one in storage half of the year and if I had another I think my wife would have something to say about it!

It looks like it has been scrapped which is a shame but you never know it could be in someones garage.
