Hello all, im new to this today, some great stuff on here..
1981 monaco blue mk1 golf (1.1 only sadly)
but on the plus its only done 62,000 miles and is in mint original condition inside!
going outside im currently workin on rust but thats about my limit so far…i know the basics, oil/air filter change, brake changes and most stuff under the engine but having looked through this forum im aware theres so much more to learn…but im staying away from stripping the thing for now…
….so what do people reckon i should tackle next after this rust repair? anything spring to mind that would be essential for future protection…do you lot coat underneath with anything??i am aware its gettin old n going to deteriorate unless i pay it attention
thanks for any help, rob

Sounds like a good Mk1! Any pics to share with us? Will it be an all-weather/regularly used car when you've finished the bodywork? You can ask about your underseal question in the 'bodywork and fittings' section if you like, for a better response. It's certainly very advisable to treat the underside.
