Greetings...

Hi all

Finally officially joined the MkI Golf Owners Club after having browsed here for a few years.  I live in Johannesburg, South Africa although I am actually a British citizen as my fatehr was born and raised in Southfields just outside London before moving to Cape Town when he was a teenager.  I have a few cars but only one MkI Golf at the moment, a 1981 Golf GLS four door which I am looking at taking off the road and doing a full strip and rebuild when money and time permits…

mAtt - Thanks, been on the forum for a while, even bought a bunch of parts from club members as original MkI Golf parts are hard to come by in South Africa.  Just waiting for my membership pack to arrive to be an official club member…

I put a few pictures up here a while ago, nothing too recent though as I am still busy collecting parts and preparing for her re-build…

She was made in '81 but first registered in '82 so I am not sure which year exactly to call her…
