Greetings from the Isle of Man

I am the proud owner of a Mark 1 Gti that has been built for tarmac rallying.
I have rallied Mark 2 Golfs for more years than I care to remember and even owned an ex-works 16v at one time, a real flying machine but the Mark 1 has always been my great love.
The Mark 1 was built 2 years ago and has now completed about 10 closed road tarmac rallies with only 1 broken driveshaft to dent its finishing record.
At present it has an 1800 TSR engine and runs on twin 45 webers,Avanti c/r 020 gearbox and Quaife diff.
Bilstein adj. suspension and big brakes.
It is completely stripped out but obviously has a cage and fireater etc but still the power to weight ratio is really good.
For 2010 I intend to compete in the BHRC Historic Tarmac Rally Championship starting with my own round here on the Manx.
I am going to covert the car back to 1.6 Gti and actually joined the site to find an EG motor.
So if anyone out there with an engine or even a short motor for sale I would be delighted to hear from them.
What a great site this is and used by so many people throughout the world.
