Greetings from the United States
Here's a picture of how it looks currently.
I havent done much other then general matinence, K&N filter, and adding a duckbill spoiler. Hopefully if they're delivered on time, by next week it'll have a four point ADB upper stress bar and a GTI duckbill. I plan on ditching the American, big chrome bumpers for some nice Euro ones in the future.
Anyways, I look forward to meeting and talking with some cool MK1 pepole!

Good to see you here. The american legislation did really mess up some good looking Euro cars! Can you retro fit euro bumpers with no probs?
Mind you I lived in the states in the early 90's and had a '77 Cadillac Eldorado - when I took it for the state test I didn't even need to take the car!!!! (Of course I knew the chaps in the testing station.
Cheers

Welcome Akira, what part of california are you from :?:
The plastic wrap around euro bumpers are pretty easy to obtain here. The cost is usually $150 for the set plus the lights. It should fit with no problems, it has all the correct holes and such since it's German built . However I am thankfull for those big heavy bumpers. One of the previous owners backed up into a pole. If it had the standard euro bumpers, the back would of been a mess.

Nice looking car. We have a guy down the road who has a USA spec Rabbit convertible in blck, but in terrible condition.
Seeing your car reminds me……there is one like it in 'Scary movie', in fact there are a lot of films that have a Mk1 Cab appearing somewhere……an idea for another thread…..
Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…
