Got my first Mk1

So boys and gals..I've literally just bought my 1st Mk1 and shes a 1.8 Gti and ive already fallen in love with her (yes thats right ive added another female into my life lol).

anyway have a look at this quick snap I took (if ive done it right lol), I am a photographer by trade so expect some super hot photos soon!!

Any hints or tips on keeping this beauty alive will be greatly appreciated (unless its hints like avoiding bricks walls and lamp posts!)

cars are reliable once you get ontop of any problems, forums good place to ask questions on the likes of fueling, electrics etc.

For now id pretty much start off with changing fluids and filters, including gearbox and coolent.
Check fuel filler neck, top mounts and brakes for wear and tear.

Sorry for the delay in reply guys! My plan is to try and put her back to a near original state, 1st job is to source some original bbs's and re-badge the grill and boot. Then onto brake upgrade and getting rid of some very minor rust issues.. driving to work in her today and when i turned the heaters on smoked poured into the cab which was a bit disconcerning to say the least!! :s
