Gearbox oil everywhere!!!!!!

Hi all, need help! Poured a litre of gearbox oil in outside halfords this evening, only to see it drip out the bottom straight away! It was leaking between the engine sump and the gearbox. Any ideas what it might be?
Also problems with the gears, it jumps out of 5th and reverse and doesn't like 3rd. Changed gear linkage bushes and set up the 15mm gap under the gear stick still no good-wondered if the problems might be related i.e no oil in box.

Thanks Matt :banghead:

Which hole did you put the oil in?

The one on top of the gearbox coloured green with a push in cap.

thats the cap for setting the timing , not the gearbox oil , you fill the gearbox oil by removing the speedo cable or the 17mm alloy key plug at the side , it cant be done in a carpark unless you have tools, jack etc & you must never overfill it.
Im not sure of the consequences of what you done , chances are your clutch will now be contaminated

Whoops!  Thats an inspection hole for the timing marks on the flywheel.

Have a read of the following link and that should sort out where to top it up.  Your symptoms do sound like low fluid level.

020 Oil

Very difficult if not impossible to get the oil out off the clutch.
