firstly hi to everyone i'm a new member ...vw golf mk1 conve

just changed fuel pump on my golf mk1 convertable , and now its running worse than before . when you put foot down on the gas ,theres seems to be nothing there and on idle it just dies . anyone got any ideas thanks
