92 1.8 8v rivage convertible to mars red tin top look
Hi fellas just joined today, I've got a 92 1.8 8v Rivage convertible.
Owned it for about 6 yrs now but if im honest its spent most of that time in the garage, its had a new mohair hood various other bits and pieces and some porsche d90's but never really applied myself so I thought nows the time.
I'm sure its been done before somewhere but i've had a look and cant really find what I plan to do.
I'm going to give it a mars red small bumper classic 83 / 84 look

Can't beat Mars Red in my opinion, but are you sure the car is a Rivage? They were just Blue or Green, the Sportline at the time was in Red (Flash Red I think) but you have a non Sportline interior from what I can see.
Whatever it's pedigree, a nice looking car.

Yeah I've always wondered about the interior myself … I lost my original V5 and had to get a duplicate but I'm sure my old one said Rivage on it. I mean I'd never heard the word before I bought the car I wonder if there's any way of checking with chassis number ?

The amount of people I've told with confidence as well " oh yes it a Rivage you know " oh well, lol. It does have a power roof though if that's worth anything
. Oh and yes going back to your original statement I totally agree mars red is definitely the one.

It could be a run out Clipper model, they had power windows and power roofs.
I think it may be Paprika Red ( Lady Borednow's K-reg clipper looked very similar and is Paprika Red)
Does it have a grey cloth interior?
Nice looking ride mate and welcome ot the Forum

Cheers mate, yep grey interior.
I thought clippers where only carbs, it's got injection and I've checked and the reg comes up as gti ? Oh the joys of variants, I restore Porsches for a living and I thought they were a mine field when I started. Never dreamed I have this much trouble with a golf.
All and any help gratefully received.
Thanks

There should be a paper sticker in the boot on the rear cross brace which tells you the engine number, chassis number, paint colour, what trim/seats were fitted and what extra was fitted to the car in manufacturer.
If you have the original owners manual a sticker is also sometime in there as well.
Info on codes etc here.
