can anybody help the new boy?

Recently aquired 1992 karmann golf, very happy with it but was contemlating, has any1 dropped a mk3 vr6 engine into one of these? what's the logistics of it?  also where would i pick up nice chrome bumpers in ireland, will it look stupid without the original big style kit on it.  love the look of the old rabbit, want to send mine back in time!!
