Brave New World

Hello All,

I have just signed up as a paid member to the Mk1 Golf OC and intend to make the most of what it has to offer. On Saturday, I went to Derby and finally bought the car that has been racing around my dreams at night for the last eight years.

It is a 1989 1.8 Clipper in black, with new roof and wheels, amongst other things. I have (hopefully) attached a link to the Flickr account I have set up to chart its progress for the foreseeable future as I feel I will be spending an awful lot of time taking pictures of it at different locations.

Am planning to attend the Annual Gathering too, it looks brilliant.

Any advice, general guidance or even a hello would be much appreciated. Am looking for the correct Haynes Manual to get and not entirely sure, so a prod in the right direction with that would be great too!

Cheers,

Alex

They really are incredible, driving it has been just as great as I'd always thought it'd be. The chap I got it from really did look after it. He knew how to clean and polish it properly too, which is my next hurdle!

Am just trying to persuade my better half to attend the gathering. I reckon I'll just buy the tickets and twist her arm!

Cheers for welcome, buddy. Would love to see some pics once you got the car all done and motoring.
