bonjor vw'ers

how do.
just got my first VW in.
i do a fair bit of ebay'ing for a mate at work, selling his junk for him, as long as he pays me back all the fee's i dont mind helpin him out, never asked for anything more. any hoo. he said he has an old golf in the shed and i can have it if i do some more ebaying for him. He told me he parked it in his shed a couple of years ago, i was thinking it was a mk2 or something, he said it was the common square type.
we pulled the car out he other night.
been sat in a shed since 2001……. its a V-reg, series 1 mk1 GLI cabriolet. stupidly he left a window oen and for the past 10 years it has been used as home & toilet by rats, mice and fox's. found a few nests and a lot of wild rose buds. haha, i have pulled the seats and capets out and sent them to a better, cleaner place. the tip.
go some pics but cant see how to post them!
i has a load of history with loadsa receipts and mot certificates and tax dics to prove the 88k on the clock.
the engine turns over nicely and nearly fired but the plugs and leads have broken down. so i shall service it ths comming week and have another go. the injection system seems ok.
the tyres are shot but the 'teranchula' alloys are in great nik. i had it on stands so i can have a root around underneith. it's gonna need rear arch's and front wings, repairs to frnt and rear valence, small patch on the o/s/r sill & a couple of small repairs to the inner wings.  the moulding strip mid body is all there but underneith is very scabby so imay take the easy fix route and fill it smooth.
a few weeks ago a friends daughter had a front and rear smash in her clipper, he offered the wreck to me for a drink. i only need the rag top, seats, carpets, wheels and suspension. all else is up for grabs.
i will gladly swap, trade or sell any bits for why!
i'm located in Southwater, West Sussex.
no doubt i ill be tapping up the help and facts pages for some help.
would like to try and turn it round soonish to try and enjoy some sun.
