Back again

Hi all,

Just thought I'd say hello. Haven't been here for a long while now, have been having an affair with a mk4 for a few years now and have decided it's time to return to the mk1.

Will be posting in the wanted section, but thought I'd say 'hello' to all and good to see the community is still going strong.

Hi Lewis welcome back.  What made you decide to trade back to a mk1?… obviously we all know it's because they're the best car ever made but is it going to be your daily etc?

Basically I generally get around on my push bike and don't need a car for work - so driving is more of a pleasure than a chore and what better way to enjoy it than getting back into a mk1!?!

Have owned 2 before my mk4. The mk4 T GTi is great, reliable and solid but lacking that fun factor and cult following that the mk1 has. Really miss getting waved and flashed at whilst driving about too!

Trying to decide whether to go original or start a project and create a retro look. It'd be my main car but not driven everyday and am looking into storage options, there'd be nothing worse than getting a good example and letting it decay!
