Another Newbie Girlie

Hi,  Whilst trawling sites for some cheap insurance or classic insurance for my MK1 Cabby, I came across this site….so anyone can help point me in the right direction that would be  great.

I have just bought a new car and whilst I am waivering on selling the golf I would love to keep it for those summer days, but can't afford to pay two lots of fully comp.

cheers

Hi Raunch and welcome!

Keep the Cabby!! (Even if you cab lot are taking over the world from us tintops  ) You'll get loads more support here than for your other car (I'm guessing! :dontknow: ) Top down summer fun and the grin factor you get from driving a MK1

Got any pics to show us?

Hello, and welcome.
I have a classic policy for my mk1 and a normal policy for my mk3 with
Performance insurance on 01708445588
The mk1 was about ?200(limited miles) and the mk3 comp for ?395, but I have 10 years NCB and i'm 30.
But may be worth a ring.

Hi Raunch,
I used elephant.co.uk and I paid ?375 for fully comp, 3 years no claims with a mileage limit of 7000 pa. It was the cheapest of the lot by loads.
Give them a try (if you can get past the irritating gimp boy in the ads… )

You should drink more water.
1664 is 95% water.
Drink more beer? :)

Damn right - good to see a woman who can appreciate a classic - my good lady just thinks my car bleeds money luck a stuck pig (ok, she has done recently).

Thanks pep''s for the excellent replies, I shall take them up over the weekend and see what I can get.

Love the car so much  it's just such a goover.  The ex did some work on it, mainly electrics and changover of interior (the white plastic was just too naff), put a black bumper on and replaced the awful over done alloys back to originals, tho missing a few centre bits.

Had quite a bit of other work done to get it up to MOT scratch and have a MK1 enthusiast around the corner who I let go loose on doing what he wants….   Haven't been able to fix thel leaks  and a towel is a must on the seat if it's been raining - any help on that one too would be good….apart from getting a new roof, it's in quite good nick, just not around the windows……

Piccy's are on their way

Cheerio
Look forward to chatting more, this site had definitely made me want to keep it….

Cheers

Hi And welcome
Keep it but not just for the summer, get rid of the other motor! I have found thet the SUPERMARKETS are the cheapest for me - not on classic.

Tesco every little helps!

Hi Raunch (by name and nature I hope     )

Sounds like a lot of effort has gone into the car. Would be a shame to sell it.
