Go to 'search', put in Prowler in the author and look down the list until you see 'Cabriolet Buyers Guide, 2'.

Print off, read, re-read and then see if the car you like meets the criteria in Prowlers guide.

Believe the points that he makes because expensive bills will follow if you ignore them!! the guide is spot on and a very good reference to have with you when looking at a Mk1.

I bought a 'beat up' Cabby 3 years ago and if I'd read the guide I probably wouldn't have had hours of endless 'fun' spending my money!!! The results were worth it though!!!

Performance wise the GTI is better but insurance is higher :(

Prowlers guide is excellent.  :D

Golf GTI Cabriolet 1990 Helios Blue - gone

Audi A4 1.9TDI - Gone :(

Golf GTTDI MK5 140…..oooh quick….but not a MK1  ;)

Agree with robb. I have GL more of a cruiser than a sprinter. But with no doubt, charm the pants off girls still. A 17 year old blonde said this summer "Its So Cute" i want one" refering to the car and not me..lol  Glad my missus was`nt around at the time..
Any case still a great car and dont get put off by the GL n GTI thing.
