Another Golf Mk1 GTI Cabriolet escapes the scrap yard!!!

Hello all,
I have just recently purchased a 1980 VW Golf Mk1 Cabriolet 1.6 Automatic here in Malaga, Spain!!!! It was driven from Cardiff around 2001 or 2002 and then left on a friend of mines drive for 9yrs never be driven again and totally abandoned until last week i decided to bring it back to life again.
Can someone please help me with the following:
I have a few loose wires that dont know where they go and i need to find out where they go here i attach a photo at the bottom.
There is a switch under the steering wheel that i dont know what it does either.
The windscreen wipers work but very very slow. Why?
is this because of the fuse box?
I will show you a photo of the wires that i dont know where they go, they are from the back of the fuse box. Please if anyone knows where they go or can look on there car and tell me where they go that would be appreciated here is the photo from left to right they are as follows/ blue/white, blue/green, green/white, white/yellow.

many thanks hope to here from someone soon, Edward

Hello & welcome.

The wipers just sound like a normal mk1 :D
try greasing the spinals & if that does work try a new motor, mk2 Golf ones are a good upgrade.

The bolts aren't anything special, any bolt with the right thread will do - make sure you put a washer under them though, or you'll do what I've done and pull the bolt through the thermostat flange…
