Alrighty!

Hi, just running in my first mk1. Its a 1.8 gti, with some interesting mods of which im sure the purists will have something to say about

Having parted with my mk2 1.3 which I loved, I hope I will enjoy this car as much or even more.

I'll get a few pics of her up in the next day or too.

Thanks, BoomBip - Dom.

Hi,
welcome aboard, your in good company.
I look forward to seeing pics put up.
Agree with Daff83, it's the variety you get with what people do with their MK1 that makes for interesting reading in the projects forums.

Ok this is how I bought her, the body kit does'nt really appeal to me, it was more the milage of just 78,000 and the fact it was black ; )
The body kit was fitted in 1988 and i believe is a genuine VW alternative.
Looks like something that would of been fitted in the 90's by someone in a tracky!

What do you think of the kit? Also how hard would it be to return it to its original self.
Im worried what i might find underneath it all.

Oh and this is my first mk1, Ive come from a 1.3 mk2 with just 50BHP ish

looks nice pal. It doesnt really matter what you find under the body kit. It can always be sorted and the kit put back on or left off.

That's really nice Dom, I saw it for sale on ebay and on this forum a couple of times and wished I had the spare cash. I love the 80's old school look!

I'd leave the exterior as it is, but as said it's probably best to check under the kit to make sure it's all nice and solid. All I'd change would be to fit wider dishes on the BBS.  8)

Thanks for the comments guys. It's def a unique look, one which gets a few double takes too. I think its because its my first Mk1 that id really like it to be standard and the front end to be just as good looking as the back.

Theres not going to be any bumpers under there is there? :(
Also If I do take off the bodykit and alls Ok, do you think anyone would want to buy it?
Seems ashame to chuck it, as I have no where to store things.
