Not technically new but I haven't been on for a while and forgot I signed up!
Sadly someone tried to steal my mk1 cabrio by slashing the roof and ripping out the ignition barrel, so I'll probably be posting a classified on here shortly.
She's a beauty too, such a shame but the insurance company decided to write it off as uneconomical!

Yeah that's the plan (buying it back), but I've got another car now so I'm looking to pass it on to someone else to get it back on the road.
It's nice and original and low mileage so definitely worth saving!

Well, I visited it at the storage yard yesterday and it looks better than expected, except that someone has pilfered the nearside headlight. Enquiries from the insurance company have begun...

Welcome back!
These cars (sorry to say it) are investments.
With damage and bits missing your not going to get the real value of the car if you sell it like that.
Study the cars for sale for a few months and you'll understand what I mean.
I know it hurts to see it the way it is but my advice (for what it's worth) is get it up together. New MOT and tax, then sell.
You can most likely get everything you need right here, at your finger tips.
Your going to try to sell it now when in all truth the season is over.
I've said many times, buy in winter and sell in spring these cars.
If you don't believe me, post some pictures of before and after and let the club be the jury.
Depending on the season prices can go up and down by as much as 25%, plus the damage! ???
If money is no object, fair enough.
Let us know the out come, chapter and verse.
All the best.

Thanks for the reply.
To be honest I won't have the time nor the inclination to get the car back on the road myself, so I'd happily sell to an enthusiast who would enjoy restoring it.
I know someone on here would love to have it!
