A75 WMP CAMPAIGN & 1980 GLS Auto

Hi all!  I used to own the above Mk1 Gti 1800 and drove the thing everywhere with no glitches!  I even drove to the most southern point in Greece thru old Yugoslavia and back and it was a joy!  I was forced to sell and remember a tear in my eye when it was driven off!  

I passed my 1st test in a Mk1 Golf GLS Auto and now own the SAME car as my Dad passed away and left it to me….I want to restore it but have no clue as to where to start except that i just bought a Mk1 Gti 1979 Steering wheel to fit it…it still runs and is actually is in Cyprus so the body is excelent….i want to change the engine and convert it to manual..can this be done?  phew i never I knew i had so many issues to express!  :dontknow:

Welcome!! nice to hear your story. Can't answer your question on how easy to change to manual box but plenty of people here who can!
