A big hi from Ellesmere Port

New(ish) member here. Just got around to my first post -better late than never I guess. My car is a J-reg sportline cabrio with 90k on the clock. Have owned this for a year now and have put a new mohair hood on it which hasn't been down too often during this exceptionally clement spring weather  :wink: Car is owtwardly in superb condition although it has had a wheel and general paint re-furb courtesy of its previous owner. It also has a very unusual steering wheel which I have not seen on another Sportline - it is a 3 spoke leather trimmed wheel with small VW roundel and red stiching. The lower spoke has a flash red insert which matches the paintwork. Was this an original VW accessory for the Sportline?? Will try and add some pictures when I get a chance. Cheers4now

Nope - that is an aftermarket item. Mine looks like a genuine accessory wheel a bit like the ones fitted to Corrados but definitely different with a flash red insert to match the paint. Will get a picture when I have some time to play on the PC at the weekend. Cheers

Hope this image upload works! Anyway, if it has, you can see wheel. the red insert looks orange thanks to my camera flash but it is in reality flash red, exactly the same as the rest of the paintwork. Any comments/observations?

would love a set of those seats for mine. and you have the door cappings you lucky git.

got mine for 200 quid plus my old seats that were a bit poor but got no door cards!! Still bargin me thinks!  

Thats definately original and only found on sportline models…. but not on all!!!

Your gear knob and gator are different to mine too, I'm not sure if mine are the correct ones, my car has had a lot of owners.

Another recent pic. Brand new BBS caps for RAs and Mohair hood fitted. Just need to clean up the engine bay now!
