A Big HELLO !!!

Hey guys and gals,

My name is Dan and I'm really new to this forum - I used to drive a VW Polo (mk1) but when I went to uni I got rid of it. Now I'm borrowing a ClioSport (VERY Track tuned) and am after my own car - having got a taste for old school AWESOME VW's and tunes engines, I feel that a GTI mk1 is my best option (plus, after reading some of the posts here already - mostly the 30 page step by step "follow me as I fully restore my golf" thread by x5pea, which led me to sit it utter awe for several days - I really want to get my own and make it my own)

I have a bit of car experience and have lots of tools and friends readily available to help me with work.

basically, I'm here to learn learn learn, find a nice bargain (poss just a standard mk1 to begin with), make it pretty then upgrade to a show spec car (which I'd like to do by myself, using the hints, tips etc which seem to be all over this site)
