1st time post

Hi, my name`s Adam. This is my 1st post. I live in Herefordshire.
I recenctly bought this 1983 black gti. I couldent believe my luck when it came up. 71,000miles and the last owner has had it since 88, when he had the zender bodykit fitted along with the square lights and the rare alloys. I know it wont be to everyones taste but I love it.
I met my 1st member of the club outside halfolds (hfd) on saturday. Nice to meet u Bouchay, thanks for the warm welcome.

Adam there are many moddified mk1's here mate… wether it be engine, interior, bodykits… there's even a jeta with a mk1 rear - sort of an estate thing going on!!  Every mk1 is welcome here mate!!

What plans have you got for it?  Maybe get yourself along to the local meet near you (check the regional section) and the AGM (click the orange banner for details)?  Great place to meet like minded enthusiasts and I'm sure your car will get a lot of attention as it's different :wink:

a good find there mate, it  looks good, i'm not a big lover of the grille but it's part of the whole kit and gives the car an edge on most others.

Thanks for your replies.  Basically shes gonna be my little project. First thing is full running overhall / service. Shes been S.O.R.N. for quite a few years. Last on the road in 2005 for a few miles. Not sure how long before that. Still got a lot of history to go through. Few teething probs, (electrics) but hopefully she`ll be fine for the weekend. Been giving her a good clean up. When the funds allow i would like to get a bare metal respray. I want to keep the zender kit though, its what really attracted me to the car. I love the original untouched mk1s but I think as the kits been fitted since 1988 it deserves to stay. I know alot of u wont agree,  along with my brother, but hey.
