VW FESTIVAL, Harewood House, Leeds 16th - 17th Aug 2008

We need a Club member to help organise this show please as Ant and I will be unable to attend.

The dates for VW Festival 2008 have now been confirmed; as promised it will be a TWO day event spanning the 16th and 17th August 2008 with overnight camping on the Saturday night, and due to the improvement in the weather the event will be back in front of the house.

CLUB STANDS: This years VW Festival is a TWO day event spanning the 16th and 17th August 2008 with overnight onsite camping on the Saturday night.

Saturday is a more chilled out affair, with TRADERS, BAR, FOOD and LIVE MUSIC from 12.00 NOON and the main day being the Sunday.

Club Displays will be on Saturday AND Sunday, and again for 2008 club stands are FREE.

PLEASE NOTE: Each member and passenger on the club stand is required to prebook their entry tickets (via the website or through your designated organiser) in order to get onto the stand. We will also be restricting the number of ?Club Plots? so get in early to avoid dissappointment.

•  Childrens' Prebooked tickets (up to 16 years old) are FREE (normal on-gate price of nearly ?8 per day)

Was just going to post about this one!

Am going for the weekend hoepfully taking the camper and the golf. Have we booked a club stand yet? would be interested in putting car on it and will organise unless some else wants too?

Anyone else going?

I'll be there but not on club stand Im afraid as I wasnt sure there was going to be one  

I've got my tickets booked so I'll be there. I wouldn't mind being on a club stand but unfortunately I can't organise it

I will be coming down from Middlesbrough with the North East VW Club (mostly beetles & campers) so it will be nice to see some other golfs.

I've sent off for a club stand pack, am going for the weekend this year so will be there to set things up on the sunday. Any one who wants to be on the club stand please let me know, Ive asked for 10 spaces hopefully we can fill them think last year we had about 6 or 8 cars with only 2 weeks notice so sure we can beat that.

You need to prebook your tickets and name the MK1 OC on the booking please.

Does my car have to be there all weekend or could I just come for one day and leave again? What time does it open? What time would I have to be there if I wanted my car on the stand.   Cheers Stu

Hi Shaggy916 you can only be on the stand if you are a paid up member, If you want to join then would love to have you on the stand. If not make sure you pop and see us at the show.

If you have weekend tickets then I beleive your car can be on the stand all weekend if its just the sunday then all cars have to be on site before the show opens at 10. Im still waiting for some details back from the organisers.

I booked my weekend tickets a while ago but at the time didn't know I had to mark them mk1oc will this matter or shall I try and contact them?

wicked thought I was going to have to bring some card board cut out golf to make up numbers!
Are you coming for both days?
I will find out if you need to tell them for definate last year they sent me a load of passes for the cars.

 

I'll be there all weekend hopefully coming up friday My mate will also be there in his passat so if you need to make up numbers on the day

Don't make cardboard cut outs they'll be in much better condition than my car! lol.. which reminds me.. I better had pop and see the bodyshop in the morning

I've also pre-booked my ticket (didn't mention being on a stand at the time of booking though). I'll be coming on the Sunday, so would also like to be in the display if that's ok? Cheers.  :wink:

no mk1 though, plus i'll be autojumbling all day, stand called 'Corradobits' - pop over for a natter!

my mates are helping out so i'll be able to shoot over to the stand a couple of times to see who's who!

Got my tickets in the post a couple days ago so how do we go about getting club passes to get on the stand?

Just out of interest : how long ago did you buy your tickets Adrian? I paid for mine a long time ago and still haven't received them in the post! I think Littlerolf might hopefully be getting a load of passes for the club cars, but I'm sure they'll let us onto the showground with just our tickets anyway.  :dontknow:

I bought mine in May I think they came Wednesday last week. I think when I ordered them they said the tickets wouldn't arrive until a couple weeks before the show. Nice looking tickets mind

Have emailed the organisers re tickets so will let you know when I get a response.

I ordered my tickets about 4 weeks ago and just got them last week.

Have hopefully recruited a few more people for the stand whilst at Billing this weekend.

wow have just an email back from the organisers talk about quick. Theyve said its fine if you didnt tell them when you booked your tickets you will still be allowed onto the stand.

Am really looking forward to it now.

me and al have got our tickets ordered.

tho my golf is still off the road, i might be lucky and have my mk1 polo on the road in time…
if not, i'll be riding shotgun in al's marsred 1600gti.

neither of us are paid members on here, so we'll be bigging up the car park massive as usual. (its the place to be )

will come over to the stand for a natter tho, and i'll look out for you jon on the autojumble.
