The Whitehouse, is part of AFC Telford United's ground, nice place, nice meals pop into Joshua's bar for a cheaper pint, it's part of the complex. About 10 mins from the show, though watch out for the speed camera if your coming from the M54

Theres a group  of 25+ odd of us staying at the telford shawbirch travel lodge …so you prob lucky your elsewhere  :twisted:  :mrgreen:

Meet up on Sunday at some point?

After having checked out the website www.ultimate-dubs.co.uk it looks like a cool event so I'll try get there. Bit fed up with hotels at the moment so I'm driving there and back in the day, though.

Anyone know whose the Mk1 is in the line up of all the Mks of Golf? Is it going to be the same lineup as the one for the classic car mag not so long ago (it was Dubboy's black 1980 then)?

The first Ultimate Dubs has been and gone and its fair to say that there were so TOP motors there.

Everything from Mk1's from our club, plus others (who now have flyers!!), Mk2's with smoothed off engine bays, Mk3's with flip paint, Coraddos, Polos, Passatts and probably the best out of the bunch a group of Belgium Boys modded rides.

The trophys were good quality glass etched ones and Simon McNamara's totally rebuilt Mk1 took the best Mk1 catagory (Gaydon's Peoples Choice).

The hotels were within easy walking distance, the bars were chocka with Dub chat. Even the Great North South Divide dried up and Daisy & I had a few drinks together!!!!

This is a show venue that will grow hopefully and one that should get better with time. A reccommended visit.

Said Hi to Daisy on Sunday when we settting up as I recognised the cabbie, but forgot to sort out meeting up with anyone else, shame that.  Many from the mk1OC there?

There were 3 of us in a row Daisy, me and a bloke who owned the black 3 door. Further up was the 2-tone red & cream 3 door of Danny Whiteleys and Simon McNamara was in the other hall.

Didn't know you were there with Dub Marines.

I was chatting to Daisy on the Sat when you drove in and the marshall was chatting about not putting yours next to the other red mk1…

 

mine would have been totally outshone by the other mk1s  ops:.

I remember now!!! it was all a little hectic when I got in there. The marshall hadn't let me in at first cause I had too much fuel in the tank for fire regs so I washed off in freezing cold water with the engine on tickover until it decided to give itself an instant under bonnet steam clean!!!

Here's a photo to prove that Massive and Minature battles were suspended for the weekend!!!
