North East Event Idea:

i've got and idea for an event in the north east, i'd like to talk to some local dubers to help organize a meet/show once a year at this venue:

any advice would be great from anyone here so i can get an idea of what people like to see at meets/shows. im sure you can camp at this venue,
it has bike and truck shows on there so i dont think they will have a problem with cars. entertainment is no problem, i sort out dance music events regularly in my area and we were considering an out door event for early summer but it would be class if we held its as a meet/show as well. i work with a lot of rock bands too so we could have two music marquees then i reckon a couple of food & drink vans, toilets, maybe get in touch with a few local car specialist shops to set up some stalls, theres loads of space to park and the P.O.W Camp its self is quite cool. i reckon it could make a cracking little event if its advertised well. the only problem is i would need some help getting it organized and with advertising. im not sure if you can get funding for events like this so it would be good to get a rough figure of how much the venue, marquees and facilities would cost. its just an idea at the moment but with a little help and planning it could well be possible.

Hi Mike I think this would be a perfect venue for a vw show . 8)

I would be up for camping and a bit of partying to boot.

I've even thought of a name for your show "DUB WARS" what do you think?

Count me in, and if you need any help getting this event of the ground I'll do my best to help you out.

It might be worth pm hairyarse as he is our events co-ordiantor and I'm sure he'll be happy to give you some pointers.

ok, ive had a quick word with the owners of the POW Camp and they are fine about hosting the event. i still have to have a proper meeting with them but i asked about camping and stuff and they said that would be ok too. they also mentioned that this year they are holding a show which is going to a kind of combination of all the shows they had last year over one weekend, so its trucks, classic cars and military vehicles. they said that if i liked i could make the VW show a part of that weekend and have a section of the field just for VW's. this could be a good idea for the first one, as the price of sorting everything out by my self would be into the thousands just for a basic set up. i kind of expected at least a grand but one of the bigger marquees at the military show cost ?7000 last year and i dont have that kind of money spare. i need to know if everyone would still be ok with it being part of this combined weekend? let me know what you all think asap as im going to see them this week.   :dontknow:
