NEC Classic Car Show 16th - 18th November 2012

It's that time of year again for us to consider the cars to represent the club at the Birmingham NEC CLassic Car Show. As the title says the event will be held between 16-18th November 2012.

Set up day will be Thursday 15th November `12 and the stand cars will need to be in the hall and on the stand by 2100hrs at the latest that night. (Although earlier would be better, then you can join us for drinks in the bar!!!   )

Stand cars will need to remain on the stand until the exhibition closure on Sunday 18th November. NO ONE CAN MOVE CARS DURING THE SHOW.

The theme this year is 'What's The Story'. It's open to interpretation so if your car has a history of some kind or how you came about it or how you've renovated it then this could be your chance to tell people all about it!

We are looking for high quality cars and this year we may include modified vehicles for a change!!!

So, if you'd like your car to be considered for the club stand, paid members as always get first dibs, please post a picture below. Owners and a partner of cars displayed will get FREE entry to the show each day.

If you've never been to the NEC Classic Car Show click here and read about what you've been missing!!

Get your pictures up lads, no good without!!

I was talking to McDonut last night and he's recently bought a Series 1 from Ireland, it's the original bill of sale and loads of history and would make a good story.

Thing is, it's unrestored. Do you think that it would be out of order to put a dusty, grubby interior pre-restoration car on the stand?? It would be different!!!

It's all part of the story, we had a non restored one a fair few years ago and it went down well IIRC.  Like you say tho, no good without pictures ;)

Series 1 GTI

What about this car, black series 1 GTI.  All standard and restored, except for wheels.  Original wheels should be back on it once they are refurbed, although it's currently on VW branded 1977 ATS Cups - so 'period' dealer option I believe.

Is has a bit of a story, original sales receipt, every MOT.  I bought the car unrestored from the original owner, he had it from new in '79.

Part of an article from VW Audi Car in '98.

The car now.

At the moment it's covered in dust on his drive. He doesn't know how far he'll get at the moment. He may make a start before November!!
