GTI spring festival

cracking day. saw a few of our mk1's and floppy topped pretenders, but only met a couple of owners. doubt there will be any pics of my unwashed mk1, as she spent all day on the strip. 2hr drive there, 5hrs on the strip, 20 minutes rest, 2 1/2hr drive home.
 what a girl eh.
good to see the faces that i did see, sorry i missed the ones i didn't.

did anyone else notice, i was the most ruggedly hansom bloke at santa pod today?

that was dubstar74 driving/ragging up the strip in my car. all in all the mk1 did about 18 runs. best time 16.40. i wass quite pleased with that for standard. now gives me a benchmark for a bit of tweeking. will do the throttlebody and warm up reg ready for the next festival and see what difference it makes on the clock. may wash her too. she was liberaly sprinkled with autodim heat reflective dust.

The guy in the white mk1 with bbs was MatCashmore
The lady in the purple/blue cabby with the pink flowers was VwSparky

Stacey you should've introduced yourself, the only one who was parked with us that I'd met before isnt a member but seemed really happy to get his black cabby out of the car park and park with us, which he also did at Ultimate Dubs (he reads the boards occasionally,  Mark, sign up please   )

I thought I recognised the cabby, it was yours all along! At one point you were sitting on the roll bar…living the dream ;-) You should have come over and said hi! :-)

Well unfortunately I didn't have the pleasure of meeting you, so I can't comment! ;-)

Well it was a great day with great weather, people and of course VWs! ;-) It was really good meeting people from the club putting faces to nicknames!-Thank-you to the members I spoke to…you made me (& my cabby!) feel very welcome, thank-you :-) And thank-you dubboy for encouraging me to go on the stand, my cabby felt quite spoiled!! I believe I was the last car of the club standing, but as I live round the corner it isn't really much of an achievement!! Hope to meet more from the club soon…
Cheers
Julia
