windscreen wiper mod
Hi all
For your imformation I discovered a quick painless mod to improve the wipers on our mk1 rally car the wiper motor from a late 90's Daiwoo Cielo is a straight bolt in swap (except wiring plug) and gives a superior speed on hi and low I hope this imformation is of use to someone
Cheers from oz Trevor

Good tip - thanks for that! However, I don't know that model name, I guess Daewoo call it a different name in the UK? Anyone know?
Cleaning your spindles on the system is good too. Someone did a 'how to' a little while back - need to do mine as they're very slow!

Is it ANY mk2 front wiper motor? Or are there different flavours to look out for?
I've got a Passat one here but looks like its got the wrong orientation…

The mk2 motor sits on the other side of the spindle to the mk1 motor. When fitted the support bracket from the motor to the bodywork is missing. Works OK though.

lupo wiper conversion?
Hi everyone,
I am fed up with my rubbish slow wipers on my mk1 i have seen that you can do a lupo wiper converison (along with the motor) to the corrado and it apparently works really well. Just wondering if anyone had heard of this being done to a mk1 as i was tempted to give it a try.
cheers
stephen

I`d be up for one of those "adaptor looms" crazyquiff
I`ve had a mk2 gti w/motor sitting in the shed for over a year now, but haven`t had the guts to start chopping up wires. I took all the spindles bits, and greased everything up - which made a hell of a dofference. But the job needs finishing with a mk2 upgrade.
A plug `n` play option would be really nice, and hassle free! How much could you do one for me?

yep I've done this, although I haven't technically done a lupo conversion, I bought some universal aero wipers from ebay, as in ones that will fit with the old style hook fittings, they work very well, and have stopped all the nasty judders and jumping, along with the annoying squeeking, and they actually clear the screen on both the up and down sweep! 8)
some people might think they look slightly out of place, and I'm not sure I'd have them on a minter, but I'm more than happy to make the sacrifice on mine, and would highly recommend them

Did this mod recently on my friend's mk1, straight swap over with mk2 wipers motor, cut long enough off the wiring from the mk2 also take the plug with mk2 wiper motor, wires are the same colours, connect and there you go faster wipers, total 30minutes fitting time

Are we talking pre 87 Mk2 with the lhd wipers or 88 on MK2 with the rhd wipers and the blanking grommet near the left screen pillar - aren't the wiper motors different?
