Will Borbet As fit??
Hi everybody!
Just wanting some advice really, i am looking to fit a set of borbet As to my mk 1 gti cabrio, the car has been lowered and currently has 195/50/15s on.
The rims im looking at are the 9x16'' borbet As do you think they would fit?
Thanks all
Jonny

9" is just so wide for a mk1, I've seen it but it was with 14"s, 16" will make it even harder. Do you know what offset the wheels are? as this will make an important difference.
I think you'll have major trouble, it will require fairly serious arch surgery - not just rolling, but cutting, pulling and reworking… so it could be done but may get expensive!

7 1/2 x 16 on a mk1 is really really tight so 9x16s will be a bit mad, youll probably be looking at welding in arch repair sections and using coilovers with shorter springs(to raise the bottom seat) to get a bit of inside clearance as well,or using some form of group b arches like the german hillclimb mob although theyre usually designed for smaller wheels tbh
