As I don't use the Cab much any more spent would have been a waste of money. I have run 3 other golfs on coils before, the worst for ride by far were supersport ones, It was bone crunching.
I'm not sure what bared a set of coilies means……???
I'm guessing the threads wore out?
Anyhow, I set the ride hight on mine and havent touched it since. It's low but still allows me to get about without smashing the sump totally.
If your after improving handling then you'll need more than just a new set of springs and dampers. I have powerflex bushes, thicker front ARB and 3 strutbraces fitted.
Projekt Frustration :
White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!
Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.

my mates jetta has 400 quid fk's i believe. the ride is much worse than mine on hottunings lol
and she's running 14's on 60 section tyres, i'm running 15's on 50 section with a bit of stretch lol
I think you'll find tyre choice does make a big difference to how they ride.
