What sports filter for golf cabrio mark one with new webber

I want a sports filter for my 1990 MK 1 cabriolet ? I have just had a webber carb fitted but not sure where to go for sports filter ? Will a sports filter make a difference ?

generally, a k&n filter will give a bit better performance and/or economy, depending on how you drive it. i believe k&n do a direct replacement filter, that will simply replace the paper filter in the standard airbox, or a complete filter, that replaces the whole airbox. it would be my opinion, that it's worthwhile doing either. won't knock a second off your 0-60 times, but should be a bit better.

tried a weber and a k&n top filter and they rub on the bulkhead/firewall
tried a ramair sock type filter but it was worse

back to k&n pannel filter and it runs mint an sounds cool too
