what sort of bhp would get from running twin carbs? which would be the best ones to put on a 1.8 clipper? and where would be the best place to get them from?

Im running a Weber on mine and its just as quick as a gti! However Weber are no more :( . try motorsport specialists scrappys or even Evilbay!  8)

You will only see around 8-10 bhp from running carbs alone. You really need a longer duration cam and flowed head with larger valves to make use of them. The restrictions lie in the head not the carb.

as the man says for twin carbs.  :wink:

Fitting a twin choke weber conversion to a carbed engine will help with the fuel consumption, but not up power significantly. A GTI cam in an 1800 carbed engine gives a bigger increase, but still not quite as much as a standard GTI. Anyone who says differently must have driven some slow GTI's  :wink:

Yep, and the reason why the twin chokes helps economy is because you usually have a smaller and a larger butterfly. The smaller one opens first then the larger one opens progressively when more throttle is applied.

cheers guys, gona have to think what to do,might jus go fuel injection and put a 8v lump in, have to think about it.
